In the midst of the violence that prevailed yesterday at Gorukhuti, a viral video has been doing the rounds of a youth attacking one of the illegal settlers. The person has been identified as Bijoy Bania, who is a photographer with the Darrang district administration. In the video, Bania can be seen jumping and assaulting one of the illegal settlers who was lying injured on the ground after police lathi charged the person.

Meanwhile, Bania has been arrested in this regard. DGP Bhaskarjyoti Mahanta confirmed that Bania has been placed under arrest over the incident. Mahanta also said that the incident will now be probed by the CID. The Assam DGP also stated that Bania is now in the custody of CID.
