This has raised apprehensions of crisis of food materials besides other essentials.
Meanwhile, students under the banner of the All Manipur Students Union formed a human chain as a mark of protest against alleged atrocities carried out by NSCN-IM militants.
The influential students body called for the blockade from Saturday midnight after suspected NSCN-IM cadres involved in extortion assaulted a team of musicians led by AMSU at Nungba on September 3.
