The 100 hour blockade of the National Highway 37 in Manipur entered its third day today with hundreds of trucks still remaining stranded along the national highway.

This has raised apprehensions of crisis of food materials besides other essentials.

Meanwhile, students under the banner of the All Manipur Students Union formed a human chain as a mark of protest against alleged atrocities carried out by NSCN-IM militants.

The influential students body called for the blockade from Saturday midnight after suspected NSCN-IM cadres involved in extortion assaulted a team of musicians led by AMSU at Nungba on September 3.
