10-year-old girl molested by Army jawan in Arunachal Pradesh

In yet another case of crime against minors, a 10-year-old girl was allegedly molested by an Army jawan on Thursday night at Bonia village in Longding district of Arunachal Pradesh.

In yet another case of crime against minors, a 10-year-old girl was allegedly molested by an Army jawan on Thursday night at Bonia village in Longding district of Arunachal Pradesh.

The jawan was a member of a regular army patrol team which had gone to the village for
conducting area domination operations. The jawan from the 19th Sikh Regiment identified as Gurlal Singh was arrested by the police on Thursday night itself.

The Officer-in-Charge of Pongchau police station, A Chama, had informed that the army personnel had to be rescued from an angry mob which had gathered in the area following the incident.

Chama informed that a case No. 3/2018 under section 354 of the Indian Penal Code and Section 10 of the POCSO ACT has been registered at the Pongchau police station in this regard.

Chama further informed that the army personnel was produced before the Longding Judicial Magistrate on Friday who has issued order to transfer the case to the
court of the District Session Judge at Tezu where he is scheduled to appear on Monday.
