England, new T-20 World Champions

England thrashed Pakistan by 5-wickets. Ben Stokes leads England to thrilling victory over Pakistan. Sam Curran picks up 3 wickets.

England are the new T-20 World Champions after the English side defeated Pakistan in a closely fought final encounter of the T-20 World Cup in Melbourne.

Ben Stokes guided England to a superb win against the Pakistan with his unbeaten knock of 52 runs in 49 balls. Meanwhile, skipper Jose Butler scored 26 runs in 17 balls.

After losing the toss, Pakistan was sent to bat first by England. However, Pakistan failed to capitalize on the situation with Mohammad Rizwan already sent back to the dugout when the total score was 29 runs.

Captain Babaz Azam and Shan Masood scored 32 and 38 runs respectively to help Pakistan post a modest total of 135 runs.

Sam Curran was the highest wicket-taker for England by scalping 3 wickets by giving away just 12 runs in his 4-over spell. Meanwhile, Adil Rashid and Chris Jordan took 2-wickets each.
