On being asked about a pre-poll alliance, Debbarma said, "Once they give us a written assurance, any party can have a talk with us"

Tipra Motha Chief Pradyot Kishore Debbarma keeping his stance on greater Tipra Land, has asked for written assurances for any pre-poll alliance with the party.

Attending a mega rally at Bishramganj under Sipahijala district in Tripura, the Tipra Motha Chief said, “This time we are not prepared for any pre-poll alliance without any written assurance.”

On being asked about a pre-poll alliance, Debbarma said, “Once they give us a written assurance, any party can have a talk with us.”

“We will sit in the opposition rather than in the government. We don’t want to repeat the IPFT’s mistake of being in government. We would rather not become ministers in the cabinet and play an important role in getting our demands met.” Debbarma added.

Reacting to the idea of bringing indigenous people to the party, Debbarma said, “I want to change politics; we want to bring in all people and tell them that this is the party for everyone, and we are asking for constitutional rights, but we are not trying to take away anybody else’s rights.”

Meanwhile, talking about finding solutions to issues in the state, Debbarma urged for constitutional solutions in the ADC, no religious intolerance outside the ADC, more employment, development in the tourism sector, and education in both English and Hindi.
