Nagaland Polls: BJP, NDPP wins key seats; RPI (A) wins Noksen and Tuensang Sadar-II

The Bharatiya Janata Party and it’s ally NDPP has registered it’s first win in Nagaland. P. Bashangmongba Chang defeated his nearest rival Toyang Chang in the battle for Tuensang Sadar-1.

P. Bashangmongba Chang defeated Toyang Chang of the NCP by a margin og 5644 votes. Meanwhile, in Shamator Chessore, S Keoshu Yimchunger of the NDPP has emerged victorious from the Shamator Chessore.

He defeated his nearest rival R Tohanba of the Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas). Yimchunger won by a margin of 2295 votes.

Meanwhile, Y. Lima Onen Chang of the Republican Party of India (Athawale) sprung a surprise by winning from the Noksen seat by defeating H. Chuba Chang of the NDPP by a margin of 188 votes. Not only this, Republican Party of India (Athawale) candidate Imtichoba has won from the Tuensang Sadar-II seat by defeating nearest rival K. Odibendang Chang of the NDPP by a margin of 400 votes.

NDPP leader and former Chief Minister TR Zeliang as well as UDA Chairman has also won from the Peren seat by a margin 9639.

Meanwhile, NDPP’s Kekhrie Yhome has tasted victory by defeating NPF’s Khriehu Liezeitsu in the Northern Angmai-1 assembly constituency, who is the son of top NPF leader Shurhozelie Liezeitsu. The NDPP has also won the Mongoya assembly constituency as Imkongmar defeated his nearest rival S Supongmeren Jamir of the Congress.
