The most-searched person on Google isn't the famous social media star Orry or even the cricket sensation Virat Kohli.
As 2023 ends, Google trends reveals the India’s most searched people in 2023 for the year.
The top Google searches of 2023 showcase a fascinating blend of Bollywood glamour, cricketing excellence, digital influence, and global celebrity fascination, providing an overview of the wide range of topics that captured the interest of the online public during the year.
The most-searched person on Google isn’t the famous social media star Orry or even the cricket sensation Virat Kohli.
Surprisingly, it’s Bollywood actress Kiara Advani who takes the top spot. Her popularity skyrocketed after she tied the knot with fellow Bollywood actor Sidharth Malhotra, making her the most searched individual of the year.
In a twist, the second spot is claimed by Shubman Gill, a rising cricket star known for his outstanding performances with the Gujarat Titans in the Indian Premier League (IPL) and the national team. Gill’s charm and cricket skills made him a fan favourite, reflected in his high Google search ranking.
The third position secured by Rachin Ravindra, an Indian-origin New Zealand cricketer whose name sparked rumors of a connection to legendary Indian cricket figures Rahul Dravid and Sachin Tendulkar.
Ravindra also broke Sachin Tendulkar’s record of scoring the most World Cup centuries before turning 24.
He made his ODI Cricket World Cup debut in October this year and broke several records. The young cricketer went viral for hitting a century in his opening match against England, coincidentally his maiden ODI century.
The fourth spot took by Mohammed Shami, the star Indian fast bowler who left a lasting impression with his exceptional performances in the 2023 ICC World Cup.
Shami’s talent and contribution to India’s success in international cricket earned him a prominent place in the annual Google search rankings.
Rounding off the top five is Elvish Yadav, a popular YouTuber and winner of the second season of Big Boss OTT.
The rest of the top ten is made up of actor Sidharth Malhotra, Australian batter Glenn Maxwell, football icon David Beckham, Indian middle-order batter Suryakumar Yadav, and Australia’s world cup hero Travis Head.
