A stampede-like situation unfolded at the ISKCON Temple in Patna during Janmashtami celebrations on Monday.
Despite the chaotic scene, authorities reported that no injuries occurred and the situation was quickly brought under control.
According to Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Rajeev Mishra, “The situation has been managed effectively. For about half an hour, a large number of devotees gathered at the ISKCON Temple to celebrate Janmashtami. As the crowd grew, additional security personnel were deployed to maintain order.”
SSP Mishra confirmed, “All senior officers are on-site, and the event is proceeding smoothly. There have been no reports of injuries.”
The stempede-like situation occurred as the country observed the birth anniversary of Lord Krishna with widespread fervour on August 26.
Devotees from various backgrounds, including locals, political figures, and Olympic champions, visited temples nationwide to seek Lord Krishna’s blessings and participate in the festivities. (ANI)
