Tripura: Cong President Calls Eviction Notice to Ex-Minister Sudip Roy Barman “inhuman and politically motivated”

"If speaking the truth will result in such a reaction, then this is a kind of disgusting conspiracy," said Tripura Congress President Asish Kumar Saha.
The notice issued to former Tripura Minister and Congress MLA Sudip Roy Barman to vacate his government-allotted quarters at the old MLA Hostel within the next month has escalated into a political controversy in the state.
Tripura Pradesh Congress president Asish Kumar Saha termed the notice “inhuman and politically motivated,” stating that Roy Barman is being targeted for his criticism of the current ruling party. He said that it is an act of “political vendetta.”
Saha said that Roy Barman’s vocal opposition to corruption within the state government, particularly his allegations against the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) and the Tribal Welfare Minister Bikash Debbarma during the recently concluded Assembly session, has led to this retaliatory action.
Saha said that the government is harassing Roy Barman to silence him for revealing the corrupt activities of the ruling administration.
“If speaking the truth will result in such a reaction, then this is a kind of disgusting conspiracy,” said Saha.
Roy Barman has been occupying two quarters at old MLA’s Hostel no-1 near Buddha Mandir, Agartala.
He has been directed to vacate his quarters at the old MLA Hostel within the next month and submit a requisition for the allotment of suits at the newly constructed MLA’s Hostel near ILS Hospital, Agartala.
