Darnal urged Sikkim Governor and the Sikkim administration to take action against anti-social groups
SDF (Sikkim Democratic Front) spokesperson JB Darnal has strongly condemned the attack on SDF General Secretary in charge of West District Tashi Gyatso and urged Sikkim Governor Lakshman Prasad Acharya and the state administration to take strong action against the attackers and anti-social groups involved in such acts of violence.
Tashi Gyatso was attacked in front of the SDF party office near Indira Bypass on Saturday. Gyatso received head injuries in the attack.
In a video statement, the SDF spokesperson said that violence has not stopped in Sikkim even after a program was held on the protection of democracy by resisting violent politics.
Darnal alleged the Sikkim Krantikari Morcha (SKM) party of being violent and said that the party has been involved in such activities continuously after its foundation day celebration on 4 March.
The SDF spokesperson mentioned that even though the state of Sikkim has 31 MLAs, democratic, constitutional, and political rights have been abused.
Tashi Gyatso is currently admitted at the STNM Hospital in Gangtok.
