Brutally attacked SDF leader KN Rai shows signs of recovery

Sikkim BJP president, D.R. Thapa visited Rai at the Max hospital in New Delhi today
The health condition of former Sikkim assembly speaker KN Rai is showing signs of improvement.
While leaders cutting across political affiliation had condemned the attack on the veteran, Sikkim BJP president, D.R. Thapa visited Rai at the Max hospital in New Delhi today to inquire about his condition.
In a post on Facebook, the Sikkim BJP said, “BJP State President, Shri DR Thapa visited the former Sikkim Legislative Assembly speaker, Shri KN Rai at Max Hospital, New Delhi today.
Shri KN Rai is currently receiving comprehensive treatment following the recent brutal attack on him by lawless and disorderly elements in Melli Constituency.
Extending deep solidarity, Mr. Thapa inquired about the health condition of the former speaker and wished him a speedy recovery.”
Former Speaker KN Rai was attacked at Mazi goan in Melli on March 1. He is undergoing treatment at a hospital in Delhi.
7 persons have already been arrested by the police.
On Saturday, Sikkim Police have arrested 6 people in connection with the brutal assault of Rai.
The accused have been identified as Laxman Rai, Awan Tamang, Jiten Rai, David Rai, Saroj Thapa and Karan Tamang.
The main accused Joel Rai was arrested on March 3 from the Melli Bazaar.
On March 5, Sikkim Governor Lakshman Prasad Acharya took stock of the prevailing law and order situation after the attack on senior SDF leader KN Rai. DGP AK Singh briefed the Governor about the steps taken to ensure peace and also about the ongoing investigation into the case.
The DGP had informed Governor Acharya that the probe is being closely monitored.
