CM Tamang has urged the opposition not to play politics over the issue.
Facing opposition fire over the brutal assault of former Sikkim Assembly Speaker and SDF leader KN Rai, Sikkim Chief Minister PS Tamang today said that those behind the attack on Rai will not be spared. Tamang said that criminals have no party, caste or religion and the SKM government has taken the matter very seriously.
Significantly, Tamang urged the opposition not to play politics over the issue.
It may be mentioned that the ruling SKM is facing severe criticism from the opposition over the incident. The SDF has accused SKM supporters of carrying out the attack on veteran leader Rai who was critically injured in the incident and is currently undergoing treatment in Delhi.
While the SDF reiterated its demand for president’s rule in Sikkim following the incident, the BJP too backed the move.
