Northeast has seen 73 per cent reduction in incidents of violence in last decade: Arunachal CM

Northeast India has seen a decrease of 73 per cent in incidents of violence from 2014 to 2023. This was informed by Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu on his official X handle.
The Chief Minister said that the number of incidents of violence in the Northeast was 11,121 during the period of 2004 to 2014. The figures reduced to 3114 during 2014 to 2023, which signals a 73 per cent reduction.
Khandu further said that the number of deaths among Northeast’s security forces also saw a 71 percent decrease, reducing from 458 in 2014 to 132 in 2023.
Taking to his official X handle, Khandu wrote, “The era of neglect, violence has ended in North East. The region under the visionary leadership of Hon PM Shri @narendramodi Ji & strategic intervention of Hon HM Shri @AmitShah Ji has witnessed 73% reduction in violent incidents from 2014-2023. The peace has also paved the way for a brighter, more harmonious future for the region.”
