Crucial talks between Eastern Nagaland People's Organisation & Centre over the demand for Frontier Nagaland 'likely' on the cards.

In big statement, Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio today said that he will facilitate for talks between Union Home Minister Amit Shah and representatives of the Eastern Nagaland Peoples’ Organisation. This is a big development amid the ENPO and other groups from Eastern Nagaland intensifying the agitation demanding for the creation of Frontier Nagaland.

Not only this, Chief Minister Rio also stated that he will request Prime Minister Narendra Modi to meet ENPO representatives during his proposed visit to the state.

“We are getting a date, Home Minister will meet them and when PM will come here we will also request him to meet ENPO,” stated Rio.

Meanwhile, the Nagaland Chief Minister hoped that issues will be resolved and that there is nothing wrong for the people of Eastern Nagaland to seek, or what they think and what they desire.

Chief Minister Rio also added that the Hornbill festival will be held in a grand manner and urged everyone to be a part of the mega festival. Rio stated that everyone must try to make it successful.

It may be mentioned that the Eastern Nagaland Peoples’ Organisation (ENPO) and other organisations of Eastern Nagaland have decided to abstain from taking part in the elections. The agitating organisations have also decided to refrain from taking part in the iconic Hornbill Festival.

Earlier, in a crucial Central Executive Council Meeting, the ENPO decided that it shall demand the resignation of all 20 MLAs representing Eastern Nagaland, besides resignation of central and grass-root leaders of all political parties.
