The NSCN-IM delegation held at least 4 rounds of discussions with Mishra before returning to Dimapur ahead of the Durga Puja celebrations.

NSCN-IM general secretary Thuingaleng Muivah will be flying to New Delhi next week. While the date and purpose of Muivah’s visit cannot be ascertained at the moment, this big development comes at a time when there has been rapid progress in the Naga peace talks.

It may be mentioned that the NSCN-IM delegation led by VS Atem resumed the peace talks with interlocutor AK Mishra after a long gap last month.

In fact, the NSCN-IM delegation held at least 4 rounds of discussions with Mishra before returning to Dimapur ahead of the Durga Puja celebrations.

As per sources, talks will now resume only after Th Muivah reaches Delhi. In fact, talks are likely to resume only after Diwali, sources added.

So will this be the decisive push to resolve the Naga issue? Things will be clearer in the days to come.
