Nagaland ULB polls: 2 BJP candidates of Niuland Town Council win unopposed

Nagaland PHED minister and BJP leader Jacob Zhimomi has confirmed the development
It’s advantage for BJP in Nagaland as the party has won 2 seats uncontested in the Nagaland Urban Local Body (ULB) elections.
The candidates who have won uncontested are Visheli Zhimo of Ward-1 and Kakheka Zhimomi of Ward-9 under Niuland Town Council.
Nagaland PHED Minister and BJP leader Jacob Zhimomi confirmed the development in a post on social media.
In the post Zhimomi wrote, “BJP makes headway in the Nagaland ULB elections with two @BJP4Nagaland candidates emerging victorious.
Heartiest congratulations to Smt. Visheli Zhimo of Ward-1 and Shri Kakheka Zhimomi of Ward-9 under Niuland Town Council for being elected uncontested! Their victory reflects the trust of the electorate in their leadership. I’m confident that they will do well to uphold the people’s mandate and work for collective progress and development. Of the 418 wards in the Municipality and Town Councils, 142 will be reserved for women. Polls will be held for three municipal councils and 36 town councils on June 26.
Today was the last date of filing nominations and the process ended at 3 pm.
