The Eastern Nagaland People’s Organization has called for a total shutdown at Tuensang Headquarters of Eastern Nagaland tomorrow in view of the Joint Coordination meeting with the 20 Legislators from Eastern Nagaland region and MP, Rajya Sabha.

The ENPO has said that all business establishments and educational institutions will remain shut in Tuensang and there will be no vehicular or public movement in the area. However, emergency services have been exempted from the shutdown.

The Eastern Nagaland Legislators Union, members of which are in Delhi today for a meeting with special adviser MHA AK Mishra, has reportedly appealed to the ENPO to further postpone the Joint Coordination Meeting but the apex Organization is said to have turned down the request.

The meeting was previously scheduled to be conducted on 15th March but was deferred due to the legislators’ meeting with MHA officials in the national capital.

Now, it remains to be seen whether the ENLU members and Rajya Sabha MP Phangnon Konyak will be able to attend the meeting at Tuensang tomorrow. The 20 Legislators are still camping in Delhi and are scheduled to meet AK Mishra.
