13-member ENPO team in New Delhi for meeting with Union Home Secy tomorrow

A 13-member delegation led by ENPO President Tsapikiu Sangtam, landed in New Delhi to hold talks on the ENPO demand with Ajay Kumar Bhalla, Home Secretary, Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA). The meeting will be held tomorrow at 12 noon.
The delegation comprises of ENPO officials, ENPO Talk Team, Eastern Nagaland Women Organisation (ENWO) and Eastern Nagaland students Federation (ENSF).
Earlier, the MHA had informed ENPO during their talks that a new model will be implemented in Eastern Nagaland and if it is successful then the said model will also be replicated in other parts of the country.
The proposed administrative arrangement will have 40 elected members and 9 nominated members by the Governor. The proposed administrative arrangement will have legislative, executive and financial autonomy.
Sources claimed that the GoI has also agreed to bring 45 departments under the new administrative structure and a separate secretariat will be established in the Eastern region.
Further, sources said that as soon as the Memorandum of Settlement (MoS) is signed, an interim body will be constituted for one year.
Mention maybe made that Nagaland Power Minister and Government Spokesperson KG.Kenye said tripartite talks will begin soon. Significantly, Kenye had also mentioned that suggestions are pouring in that any nomenclature given for the Eastern people should consider the word ‘Nagaland’ and not ‘Naga’.
