Shillong: Violence in FKJGP rally; passersby targetted

Questions have been raised against the district administration for allegedly not taking proper safety measures.
Chaotic scenes were witnessed in Meghalaya capital Shillong today during a rally of the Federation of Khasi, Jaintia and Garo People. Passersby were allegedly attacked by a few miscreants who were purportedly part of the rally that passed through the streets of Shillong.
However, questions have been raised against the district administration for allegedly not taking proper safety measures and ensuring proper deputation of police.
Meanwhile, an uneasy calm prevails in Shillong aftermath the multiple incidents of alleged attack on innocent individuals.
The Federation of Khasi Jaintia and Garo People (FKJGP) central executive committee had organised a public rally-cum-meeting to raise the issue of unemployment problem in the state.
The rally started from Motphran and culminated at Madan Iewrynghep (Fire Brigade) followed by a public meeting.
