The stage is set for the swearing-in of the newly elected MLAs in Meghalaya, which is set to commence in a short while from now. A special session of the Meghalaya Assembly has been convened for the swearing-in ceremony of the newly elected MLAs and the election of the Speaker. The new House, with 59 members, will have its first sitting today, when pro-tem Speaker Timothy D. Shira administers the oath of office to the legislators.
