Ampareen Lyngdoh slammed her rivals for allegedly trying to portray her as a BJP candidate in the parliamentary elections.

Meghalaya minister and NPP candidate from the Shillong Parliamentary seat Ampareen Lyngdoh has lashed out at her rivals for their alleged bid to project her as a BJP candidate.

Speaking exclusively to Northeast Live, Lyngdoh reiterated that NPP has its own identity and should not be termed as the same as BJP.

Ampareen Lyngdoh affirmed that the NPP undoubtedly will always maintain it’s identity. She termed her opponents actions as a “clever ploy”.

“Having been myself the candidate of the NPP, I reiterate I was not a candidate of the NDA. I was the candidate of the NPP, not the BJP. There was no pre-poll alliance, not to my knowledge at least. This was a very clever ploy that was adopted by political parties who were the opponents in the MP elections, for their own personal gain. There is nothing that will convince me that BJP in NPP and NPP is BJP. I am very sure that NPP will continue to be NPP and BJP will continue to be BJP. I don’t know why the BJP did not field a candidate, but I know for sure that political parties played with that card and I hope that public did not listened to this propaganda which was anyways confusing everyone,” Ampareen Lyngdoh said.

The NPP’s Shillong Lok Sabha candidate also shared her thoughts on what does she expect from the result day.

“I don’t know where or how the election result will work, but I don’t even one political party can say for sure that they are winning. At least for the Shillong seat the guess is on. Anybody could win, it could be anybody’s game. Win or lose does not matter,I played a very fair game, I worked very hard, I went to places, I collected information and all of these is going to be important for the party because we need to ensure that party listens to the voice of the people and that is what we are going to do from here forward.”
