Meghalaya Govt Bans Internet in 7 Districts for 48 hours

Meghalaya: Mobile internet services suspended, Order comes into effect in 7 districts of the state till 48 hours

The Meghalaya government has temporarily suspended mobile internet and data services of all service providers owing to the untoward incident at Mukroh in West Jaintia Hills this morning. The order has come into effect from 10:30AM this morning and will continue till 48 hours. The order will be effective in 7 districts of Meghalaya which include- West Jaintia Hills, East Jaintia Hills, East Khasi Hills, Ri-Bhoi, Eastern West Khasi Hills, West Khasi Hills and South West Khasi Hills district. The order has been issued to prevent further breakdown of law and order situation.
