It’s political hustle & bustle in poll-bound Manipur. BJP is busy making preparations to welcome Prime Minister Narendra Modi to the state on Tuesday. Prime Minister Modi is all set to dedicate several key projects worth Rs 4800 crore to the state.
January 2 was a busy day for Chief Minister N. Biren Singh who inspected the development of the River Front on the Eastern Side of Kangla which will be inaugurated by Prime Minister Modi. Besides, N. Biren Singh also took stock of the completion of works for the renovation of Shri Shri Govindaji Temple in Imphal.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be handing over the renovated projects of the temple to the people of Manipur. The Manipur chief minister also inspected the Imphal Smart City Integrated Command and Control Centre which will also be inaugurated by the Prime Minister.
Chief Minister N Biren Singh was also at the INA War Memorial at Moirang to take stock of the completion of construction works. It may be mentioned that the tallest flagpole in the NE states has been erected in Moirang, which will be dedicated to the nation by Prime Minister Modi during his visit on Tuesday. Ahead of the Prime Minister’s visit Union minister and Election-in charge for Manipur, Bhupendra Yadav, BJP’s Manipur in charge Sambit Patra, BJP general secretary (organisation) for Northeast Ajay Jamwal and Assam minister and Election co-in charge Ashok Singhal have also arrived in the state.
Meanwhile, BJP’s coalition partner in Manipur, the National Peoples Party has also stepped up its campaign. The NPP today took out an election rally in support of Sheikh Noorul Hassan, who is an intending candidate from the Kshetrigao constituency. Hassan said that his party primarily focusses on the youth generation and urged them to take part in the electoral process.
Meanwhile, the BJP in Tripura today held a rally to welcome Prime Minister Narendra Modi on coming January 4.
Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb also took part in the rally. Deb informed that Prime Minister Modi will be launching three development initiatives besides the new airport terminal at the Maharaja Bir Bikram Airport in Agartala.
