Manipur Fuel Shortage: Minister L Susindro Talks About the Real Status

Minister L Susindro also spoke on the domestic LPG crisis and warned people against using domestic cylinders in commercial establishments

Amid reports of a fuel shortage in Manipur, Minister L Susindro today said that the state is not facing any fuel crisis as sufficient amount of fuel is being supplied to the state.

Speaking exclusively to Northeast Live, Susindro informed that while the daily requirement is around 298 Kilolitres, sufficient amount of fuel was begin received almost on a daily basis. It is some complications which led to the crisis.

“The state received 272 Kiloliters of fuel on August 21, with an average of 298 KL each day. The state received 260 KL on August 22, 326 KL on August 23, 325 KL on August 24, and 325 KL on August 25. On Sunday, there was no delivery, and today we received over 300 KL”, Susindro said sharing details of the fuel delivery.

“Some people fill up their vehicle tanks but haven’t paid for it yet. To address this, the government will press the police into action and deploy one food and civil supplies staff in every petrol pump” he added.
Minister L Susindro also spoke on the domestic LPG crisis and warned people against using domestic cylinders in commercial establishments.

“If domestic cylinders are used for business purposes, the general public will experience shortages. I’ve given a week to replace it or we will seize the cylinders”, he added.

He further requested the petrol pump owners to talk to the government if they are facing any issues so that the government can come up with solutions.
