A major tragedy was averted in Imphal on Saturday after an IED was diffused in time. The Imphal east police with a bomb disposal squad acted promptly and reached the
the police and the bomb disposal quad reached the spot following a call from CIA Enterprises, owner W Cheng. Cheng noticed a suspicious object in front of his shop in the Andro parking area. To ensure the safety of the people, additional police force was reinforced at Wangkhei Ayangpalli road adjoining the Andro parking. The road was closed for hours.
The suspected IED was wrapped inside a large silver pot.
