Breakthrough for Manipur police: Contraband worth over Rs 5 crore recovered in Churachandpur

The contraband was seized from a Assam registered vehicle which was found plying under suspicious conditions at Rengkai road.
The Manipur Police has intensified the War on Drugs. Acting on specific inputs, a team of Churachandpur Police has intercepted a car and recovered contraband suspected to be brown sugar worth Rs 5.28 crore.
The estimated value of the contraband in the international market is estimated to be worth over Rs 30 crore.
The contraband was seized from a Assam registered vehicle which was found plying under suspicious conditions at Rengkai road.
However, when intercepted the driver of the vehicle violated the signal and tried to flee with the occupants onboard.
The vehicle was chased and finally intercepted at Bijang vengpi. Upon frisking of the vehicle, 440 soap cases packed in 4 Black flags suspected to be brown sugar were found inside the vehicle.
