A 5-member team of All India Trinamool Congress (TMC) have arrived in capital city of Imphal today on a 2-day visit to the trouble torn state of Manipur. They would meet victims of violence and visit some of the worst affected areas and relief camps.
“As per the directions of the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Bengal and Chariperson of TMC that a 5-member TMC delegation is visiting Manipur. It will be our endeavour to meet every faction, every group. This is a humanitarian crisis. We go in peace. We have sought the cooperation of the state government and an appointment with the Hon’ble Governor of Manipur,” TMC leader from Assam Sushmita Dev said before boarding the flight.
She took a dig at Prime Minister Narednra Modi for his silence on the Manipur issue. She said that TMC supremo Mamata Banerjee and the delegation is making an effort to reach out to the children and women hit hard by the violence and the TMC delegation would try its best to help them in whichever way possible.
