Sisters attacked by wild elephant in Assam, younger sister trampled to death, elder injured

A seven-year-old girl was killed while her elder sister was grievously injured in a wild elephant attack at Goreswar town of Baksa district today.
Both the deceased and the injured girls are daughters of Chandan Daimary.
The deceased girl has been identified as Birgashree Daimary, Chandan’s younger daughter, and the injured girl is Manomati Daimary.
As per inputs, the incident took place when a herd of wild jumbos charged at Chandan Daimary’s house.
On receiving information about the incident, officials of Suagpur Police Station and Forest Department rushed to the spot and sent Birgashree’s body for post-mortem examination to Masalpur.
Meanwhile, Manomati was rushed to Gauhati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) in Guwahati for better treatment.
