In a shocking incident, a nine-year-old minor who lived near the Kamakhya Temple in Guwahati was allegedly raped in front of her mother.
According to the locals, the mother-daughter duo was seen begging outside the Kamakhya Temple for the past several months. They were living under the foot over bridge near the Temple.
Police arrested the accused identified as Nayan Haloi, a photographer, following an FIR filed by the mother with the Kamakhya police outpost.
The incident comes days after another minor was allegedly raped by 2 youths in Guwahati’s Birubari area on October 25. Both the accused, were arrested the next day.
