President Droupadi Murmu to embark on 3-day Assam visit from today

President Droupadi Murmu is all set to embark on a three-day visit to Assam from today (April 6) to April 8.

As per the president’s itinerary, President Droupadi Murmu is slated to land at the Jorhat airport via a special Air Force aircraft at 2 pm on Thursday, where she will be received by Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma and other top officials.

Meanwhile, elaborate preparations have been made to accord a warm traditional welcome to President Murmu at various places on her way from Bokakhat to Kohora.

Upon arriving, the President will be taken by chopper to the temporary helipad in Bokakhat before arriving at Kohora, where she is slated to spend the night.

During her three-day visit to the state, the president will inaugurate the Gaj Utsav 2023 at the Kaziranga National Park on Friday (April 7). She is also likely to take a Jeep safari tour of the Kaziranga National Park on Friday morning.

Later on the same day, she will flag off the Mount Kanchenjunga Expedition 2023 in Guwahati and will also attend the platinum jubilee celebrations of the Gauhati High Court.

Significantly, on April 8, President Murmu will make her maiden sortie on a Sukhoi-30 MKI fighter aircraft at the Salonibari Air Force station, Tezpur, Assam.
