Those associated with setting up the Miya Museum will have to answer the government, failing which legal action would be initiated against them, the Assam Chief Minister added.

Sarma said that he has been continuously saying that emergence of Miya poetry, Miya school are challenging issues of grave concern while he referred to the Miya Museum.

Breaking his silence, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said the museum in question only has traditional items that reflect the culture of Assamese society as a whole and not particularly that of the Miya community.

According to Sarma, except the Miya lungi, every other item kept in the Miya museum, symbolize the rich heritage and culture of the indigenous people of Assam.
