Man stabs wife, daughter to death in Assam; locals suspect family feud

A gruesome murder incident has come to fore in Barpeta, Assam, where a businessman stabbed his wife and daughter to death with an axe.
The deceased mother has been identified as Binita Das, and the deceased daughter as Hiya Das. The accused has been identified as Rishabh Das. Rishabh Das owns a stationery shop in Gandhi Nagar in Barpeta. The incident took place in the Gandhi Nagar area of the town.
As per inputs, the incident is suspected to have been caused by a family dispute.
The Barpeta police have arrested the accused and are investigating the matter.
It may be mentioned that 8 years ago, the accused Rishabh Das attacked his sister and chopped off her fingers with a sickle.
Earlier on Thursday, a woman in Assam’s Karimganj district allegedly killed her husband, who was a retired SSB jawan. It has been suspected that the woman identified as Sudeepa Nath might have killed her husband over a family feud.
However, Sudeepa Nath denied all allegations and said that she has no idea how Ajay died.
Investigation on the matter is underway.
