4 more days to go for 5 more Lok Sabha constituencies of Assam to go to polls in the second phase on April 26. While the BJP and it’s allies-AGP and UPPL are confident of winning at least 13 seats, the opposition AIUDF is certain of victory in all the 3 seats that the party is contesting.

Leading from the front, AIUDF chief Badruddin Ajmal who is contesting the MP elections for the 4th time, exuded confidence that he will have the last laugh. According to Ajmal, he will be way ahead of former Assam cabinet minister Rockybul Hussain of the Congress, when the results are announced.

Ajmal after addressing a party rally today said, “We will win 3 seats this time. In Dhubri, Rockybul Hussain is speaking lies. Thousands of people are quitting the Congress everyday. Yesterday more than 2000 people have resigned. I believe that when the results will be announced, I will be winning and the ratio will be 80:20.”

Not only this, the AIUDF chief also said that party candidate for Nagaon Lok Sabha seat, Aminul Islam will win by a margin of more than 2 lakh votes.

The party is contesting three of the 14 parliamentary seats in the State. These are western Assam’s Dhubri, southern Assam’s Karimganj, and central Assam’s Nagaon where Muslims are a major voting force.

Ajmal’s statements comes after Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma today said that AIUDF is it’s main contestant in the Nagaon and Karimganj district.

CM Sarma however when asked about the Dhubri seat from where Ajmal is contesting, said that the picture would be clear in a few days.

CM Sarma earlier today had said, “In Nagaon, it is good (BJP prospects), I will campaign in Rupohi and Samaguri, after that I can say about the clear picture. All I can say now is that our position is quite good now. There is no Congress, our main contest is with the AIUDF in Nagaon. In Karimganj too our main contest is with the AIUDF. Congress is nowhere in the picture. Except for 1 seat BJP is leading in all seats, but in Nagaon and Karimganj we are facing contest with the AIUDF, after elections I will be able to tell as to how things went, but we are making leads daily.”
