Financial Influencer Accused Of Spreading False Information About Assam’s History And Traditions, CM Directs Police To Take Action

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has directed state police to take strong action against a financial influencer, identified as Abhishek Kar, for spreading false information about Assam’s history and traditions in a YouTube podcast.
On Friday, taking to X, Chief Minister’s office (CMO) said, “A video from a YouTube channel, named Riya Upreti, is in circulation where an individual named Abhishek Kar is seen making unacceptable comments on Assam’s history and traditions.”
“Appropriate action may be initiated against the said individual for spreading misinformation”, CMO added.
In the video, the influencer said, “The women of a village in Assam have so much power that they can convert humans into animals. And then at night, turn you into a person again and have sambhog with you. Why? Because there are a lot of tantric practises…”
In response, Assam’s Director General of Police, GP Singh said, “Lawful action shall be taken.”
Abhishek Kar has his own YouTube channel, with 1.86 million subscribers, in which he uploads videos giving advice on the stock market, trading, finance and business. He has 2.9 million followers on Instagram.
