Diphu Government College Field Turns Into Dumping Ground

First Published: 20th July, 2024 20:14 IST

The Diphu Government College field gallery has become a dumping ground for beer bottles and trash, sparking outrage among students and faculty over neglect and lack of maintenance

The Diphu Government College field, once a vibrant center for student activities, has now been reduced to a dumping ground filled with beer bottles and dirt, causing widespread concern among students, faculty, and local residents.

The field and gallery, earlier a symbol of pride for the college, is now surrounded by empty beer bottles, trash, and garbage, creating an unhealthy environment.

Disappointed students and faculty members have criticized the college administration for ignoring repeated complaints about the deteriorating conditions.

Established in 1964, Diphu Government College is one of the region’s most respected institutions. The neglect of its infrastructure has raised questions about the management’s dedication to campus maintenance. The current state of the field and gallery not only diminishes the college’s reputation but also poses environmental and public health risks.

This incident underscores the urgent need for better maintenance and waste management practices in educational institutions.

The students and faculty of Diphu Government College has urged the college administration and local authorities to restore the field gallery to a functional environment and ensure its maintenance.
