Dengue cases rise in Assam; alert in Karbi Anglong

Dengue cases have raised a serious concern although the Assam government is taking pro-active measures to prevent further spread.
In view of the outbreak of reported Dengue cases in some districts of Assam, proactive measures have been taken under the leadership Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma and the state health department.
Hill district Karbi Anglong is the worst affected with 271 cases being reported out of total 285 cases detected in entire Assam since November 1 till November 5. The state health department has swung into action and a review meeting was health with the district authorities to assess the dengue situation in Diphu Town as well as the entire Karbi Anglong District.
Doctors from GMCH and Epidemiology teams from nearby districts have also been deputed at Karbi Anglong to help and manage the situation.
The situation in Karbi Anglong is under close watch and all preventive measures are being taken to combat the situation.
A total of 285 Dengue positive cases has been detected in the State since 1 st to 5th November, 2022.

Various awareness activities like miking, awareness meetings in schools and municipal wards, fogging activities, house to house visits, leaflet distribution, display of banners, hoardings in prominent locations and announcement through PA systems is ongoing in the endemic districts.
