Crackdown on corruption: Computer operator arrested in Assam

Crackdown on corruption: Official caught red handed while accepting cash as bribe for processing the labour licence of a complainant.

Crackdown on corruption has intensified with every passing day. In a latest development, sleuths of the Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption, arrested Sibash Ghosh, who is a computer operator in the Office of Executive Engineer PWRD Silchar.

The official was caught red handed while accepting cash as bribe for processing the labour licence of a complainant.

This has been informed by Assam Special DGP GP Singh, who has been continuously monitoring and guiding the crackdown on corruption.

Earlier, the Assam Special DGP had informed that since January 1 till October 29 this year, 101 cases were registered against corrupt government officials leading to the arrest of 115 tainted government officials.
