The body of an 11-month-old infant who had gone missing after falling into a river in Assam’s Kamrup district has been recovered today.

An e-rickshaw carrying the family of the infant met with an accident and fell in the Kulsi river in Chaygaon yesterday night.

While the rest of the family members who were in the e-rickshaw were rescued, the infant reportedly went missing.

The accident took place at Patorikhati as the family was returning after watching Raas Mahotsav festivities.

A team of the SDRF who had been conducting search operations since last night successfully recovered the baby’s body today.
