Despite the girl’s repeated cries, not a single person, including women, who was present at the scene of the incident came forward to help her
A distasteful and scary incident has come to the fore in Assam’s Hailakandi, where a girl in college uniform was chased, gheraoed, and teased in broad daylight by a group of boys.
Despite the girl’s repeated cries, not a single person, including women, who were present at the scene of the incident came forward to help her.
What is even more shocking is that the entire incident was recorded on camera by one of the perpetrators, and several passersby, including women, can be seen in the video who simply looked on and ignored the victim’s pleas. The video has gone viral on social media.
Even though they could have come to the rescue of the girl, the passersby stood as mute spectators, ignoring the victim’s cries for help.
This video has again raised the issue of girl’s safety in the state. Will the state government take action against those perpetrators?
The time and date of the video could not be verified.
