Assam Horror: Junior doctors brutally assault a man in SMCH

As a result of the alleged assault, the victim is currently receiving medical care, including stitches to his forehead.
Doctors or hooligans? A few junior doctors of Silchar Medical College and Hospital (SMCH) in Assam’s Barak Valley have been accused of allegedly kicking and brutally beating up a man inside the hospital.
The incident took place on Monday night.
The man, identified as Vanrai Rongmai (works as drug inspector of Assam Government), along with his cousin sister, had visited a relative of theirs who was admitted at the SMCH. While they were there with the patient, a junior doctor came to collect the patient’s blood sample.
That is when Vanrai’s cousin sister asked the doctor if he was an intern or postgraduate intern. This infuriated the doctor and an argument took place between the government official and the doctor. Other doctors reached the spot and started assaulting the Vanrai.
Vanrai said that they grabbed him, took him to a room and started brutally assaulting him with an iron rod.
He also alleged that the doctors kicked and beat him and called him Chinese.
Vanrai is undergoing treatment.
