Assam Congress President Bhupen Borah summoned by CID, Assam Police

A case pertaining to the damage of public property during the Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra in the state has been filed against Bhupen Borah and others including Rahul Gandhi
Assam Congress President Bhupen Borah has been summoned once again by the CID Assam Police in connection with a case filed pertaining to the damage of public property during the Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra in the state.
This is the second time Borah has been called by the CID.
Earlier, Borah had failed to appear before the investigating agency on March 2.
As per reports, the summon stated that failing to appear on the specified date before the CID in the Ulubari area of Guwahati, Borah could face arrest.
In January, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma stated that an FIR had been filed against Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and other state leaders including APCC chief Bhupen Borah for allegedly damaging public property during the Nyay Yatra in Assam.
The incident occurred during a clash between police and Congress workers in Guwahati as part of the Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra.
