The Bhumi Pujan will take place at 1 PM and arrangements have been made for 5000 people to attend.
The semiconductor plant is expected to roll out the first chip next year and will produce 48 million chips per day. This plant will put Assam on the global map.
The plant is going to be a mega job generator, already 1,500 youths from Assam, mostly women are being trained in Tata facilities in and around Bengaluru.
The semiconductor plant in Assam will give a big boost to India’s plans to grab a bigger share of the global semiconductor market, become a dominant player in the sector and be in the big league with the likes of global leaders such as the US, China, South Korea, Taiwan and Japan.
The global semiconductor market size was valued at USD 544.78 billion in 2023 and is expected to reach around USD 1,137.57 billion by 2033, poised to grow at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 7.64% during the forecast period 2024 to 2033, as per Precedence Research, a company that provides strategic market insights and is based out of Canada and India.
“Two large, reputed American conglomerates” are also expected to be part of the Assam’s Tata Semiconductor Assembly and Test Private Limited (TSAT)
plant,” Union IT Minister Ashwani Vashnaw said in March this year after the Union Cabinet gave the approval for the plant.
It will be an ATMP (assembly, testing, marking, and packaging) pant.
Jagiroad is on the outskirts of Guwahati and is about 50 kms from the city.
Tomorrow is also likely to be a big day for Assam as another Taj Hotel is expected to come up in the state.
People privy to the development told Northeast Live that N Chandrasekharan and his team of 5 Directors are expected to meet Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma and his team in the morning before the Bhimu Pujan and a Memorandum of Understanding is likely to be signed for the next Taj Group of Hotels.
