Assam-A’chal border issue: 10 hr long crucial meeting ends

The ministerial-level meeting deliberated on resolving the border dispute involving 26 villages along the Assam-Arunachal border.
In a significant push towards resolving the border dispute between Assam and Arunachal, regional committees of both states held a ten-hour-long marathon meet in Assam’s Biswanath district which ended at 4:30 this morning.

The Assam delegation was headed by cabinet minister Keshav Mahanta, and included Bihali MLA Ranjit Dutta, Gohpur MLA Utpal Bora, and officials of the Lakhimpur and Biswanath district administrations.
Whereas, the delegation from Arunachal was led by cabinet minister Taba Tadir, and included Doimukh MLA Tana Hali Tara and other government officials.
The all-important meeting ended with both sides resolving to amicably settle the matter and reach a solution. The resolution taken in the meeting would be presented before the Chief Ministers of both states.
After the meeting, Keshav Mahanta talked about the meeting and the resolutions that were taken in it.
Mahanta also said that both regional committees will forward the resolution taken in today’s meet to their respective Chief Ministers and both CMs will carry the matter forward.
Meanwhile, Arunachal Pradesh minister Taba Tadir also called the meet as a success and hoped that the matter will be settled amicably.
