Assam: 8-Year-Old Girl Dies in Karbi Anglong After Coming in Contact with Live Wire

In a tragic incident, an 8-year-old girl lost her life due to an electric shock in Karbi Anglong, under the jurisdiction of Borpothar Police Station.

According to sources, she came into contact with a live electrical wire, resulting in a fatal electric shock. Despite immediate attempts to rush her to the hospital, she succumbed to her injuries. Her body has been taken to Diphu Medical College and Hospital for a post-mortem examination.

Reportedly, the family is in a state of shock and grief, with Urmika’s father, who was in Hyderabad for his job at a packaging company, hurrying back to his hometown. The local community has come together to support the grieving family during this challenging time.

Authorities have initiated an investigation to determine the cause of the electrical fault that led to this tragedy.

Questions are being raised about the maintenance and safety of the electrical infrastructure in the area. Why was there a live wire? What measures are being taken to ensure such incidents do not recur? Why are authorities lax?

Meanwhile, authorities have assured that necessary measures will be taken to prevent such tragedies in the future.
