Army arrests one ULFA (I) cadre in Assam

One 7.62 mm pistol with four live rounds were recovered from the cadre

In a major success, the Red Shield Division of the Indian Army, under the aegis of Spear Corps in a joint operation with Lekhapani Police, apprehended a cadre of the ULFA-Independent (ULFA-I) from Bisa Gaon in Lekhapani in Assam’s Tinsukia district.

The operation was launched based on specific input regarding the movement of a suspected cadre with a weapon in general area Lekhapani.

The apprehended individual has been identified as Subash Chetry, a resident of Dibong Bari.

One 7.62 mm pistol with four live rounds were recovered from the cadre.

Later, during a joint interrogation, the cadre confessed that he had links with ULFA-I.
