Assam: Arms & ammunition recovered from a state transport bus at ISBT Silchar

Two pistols and live ammunition have been recovered from an Assam state transport bus at the ISBT in Silchar in Assam on December 20.
The arms and ammunition were found inside an abandoned bag inside the bus which reached Silchar from Dharmanagar in Tripura in the evening.
After receiving information about the recovery of the arms and ammo, local police rushed to the spot and seized the items.
The handyman of the bus found the bag under seats 25 and 26 when it arrived from Tripura at the ISBT and all the passengers have left, Police told Northeast Live.
Police has initiated an investigation into the matter and efforts are on to nab the culprits.
