It all started with the rape of a 5-year-old in Tezu in the state’s Lohit district where two men accused of raping and killing the minor were lynched by an irate mob.

The second incident was reported from Yingkiong in Upper Siang where a teacher allegedly raped a 5-year old student. Meanwhile, another incident was reported from Daporijo in Upper Subansiri where an 8-year-old girl was raped by a neighbour.

So, as Arunachal Pradesh struggles to control the situation at Teju where a curfew has been imposed following the lynching and killing of two rape accused, another incident of rape of a minor girl has been reported from Yingkiong of Upper Siang district where a 5-year-old girl was allegedly raped by her teacher on Saturday. The accused has been identified as Holbi Sema.

The accused was handed over to police following which angry locals stormed the police station and damaged police property and even burnt a police vehicle.

Another rape-accused was paraded naked at Daporijo and handed over to police for allegedly raping an 8-year-old girl. The accused has been identified as Annu Gapak of Lidu colony in the area.

Meanwhile, the situation continues to be tensed in Tezu where Para military forces conducted night patrolling even as a case was registered against the mob under various section of the IPC for damaging public property.
