Attempt to join ULFA-I: 3 youths arrested

A joint team of Assam Rifles and Assam Police apprehended 3 youths for trying to join the banned ULFA-I. Further probe underway.

It is indeed a big breakthrough for the security agencies after three youths were apprehended while they were on their way to join the ULFA (Independent).

Acting on specific intel inputs a joint team of Assam Rifles and Assam Police arrested the youths from Jagun in Eastern Assam’s Tinsukia district.

The youths have been identified as Tokaidhan Bawri, Bijoy Bawri and Gunadhar Rajwar hailing from different parts of Dibrugarh district.

The trio were arrested while they were on their way to Jairampur in Arunachal Pradesh’s Changlang district.

During interrogation, the youths confessed that were on their way to join the ULFA-I. Further probe into the case is underway.
