Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu and BTR CEM Pramod Boro were present in the event to promote harmony
It was a first kind of initiative by the Arunachal Pradesh government and Assam government to ensure that there is unity and harmony among the different communities, with special emphasis on the Bodo community residing in Arunachal Pradesh.
A special event with the theme of “An Interactive Session on Understanding the Socio-Cultural Issues of Bodos in Arunachal Pradesh” was organised in Itanagar to foster peaceful co-existence among the people living along the Assam-Arunachal Pradesh inter-state border.
The event was held in presence of Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu and the Bodo Territorial Region (BTR) administration Chief Pramod Boro.
Taking to Twitter, Chief Minister Pema Khandu shared his thoughts and said, “Thanks to concerted efforts of all stakeholders, we have come a long way in fostering harmony and peaceful coexistence among the people living on Assam-Arunachal border. A first ever interactive session to discuss the socio-cultural issues of Bodos in Arunachal Pradesh took place today.”
Chief Minister Khandu acclaimed the efforts of both his government as well as the Assam government for working tirelessly to amicably ‘resolve’ matters pertaining to inter-state boundaries.
CM Khandu Tweeted, “Such a leap forward has been made possible with the governments of Assam and Arunachal Pradesh having worked successfully on practical considerations including well-defined territorial boundaries.”
“More room for cooperation is being explored. As a head start, I have promised a Cultural Centre for Bodo community at Itanagar,” Chief Minister Khandu added.
Apart from this, the Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister also expressed his gratitude to BTR CEM Pramod Boro and said, “Also I am thankful to Shri Pramod Boro Ji, Hon Chief Executive Member of BTR, for a cultural stall for Arunachal at Srirampur Gate – the checkpoint at Assam-West Bengal border, which is also known as the gateway to Northeast.”
On the other hand, BTR CEM Pramod Boro was also elated on the momentous occasion. He said, “The Bodo people have had a historic & deeply fraternal bond with the people of Arunachal Pradesh. The Interactive Session, organised by All Arunachal Pradesh Bodo Welfare Society, will serve to strengthen that bond and will bring our people closer.”
